1. The game
Physical Standard Edition or digital. Both unlock at the same moment on 19 November.
2. A console
PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. There is no PC version announced and no GTA 6 console bundle.
3. A second pad
Optional until the second person turns up. Sony's two limited edition DualSense pads ship on launch day.
4. Everything else
Screen, headset, seat, caffeine. None of it is required and all of it is the difference between playing and an occasion.

Two things worth knowing before launch week. Do I need a PS5 or Xbox to play GTA 6?
Yes. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November 2026. Rockstar has not announced a PC version, and there is no last generation release for PS4 or Xbox One.
Is there a GTA 6 console bundle?
None has been announced. Sony revealed two limited edition GTA VI DualSense controllers on 3 September 2026, but no console bundle has been confirmed by Sony, Microsoft or Rockstar.
Should I buy the physical or digital edition?
The physical Standard Edition and the digital version unlock at the same time on launch day. Physical is the one that can sell out, digital is the one you cannot resell or lend. Both play identically.
