The one thing to know. GTA IV has no money cheat, so every dollar is earned. Each playthrough has two $250,000 story payouts, Three Leaf Clover and the finale, and the best money you can go and make yourself is stealing cars for Stevie.

The GTA IV method

From Hove Beach to a quarter million

Three Leaf Clover and the finale pay $250,000 each. In between, Stevie's car thefts and the Fixer's contracts are the money worth chasing.

BEST METHOD

Stevie's car thefts

Once you have the Alderney safehouse and have finished No. 1 for Brucie and Smackdown for Derrick, Stevie starts texting you a car and a photo of where it is parked. Deliver it to S&M Auto Sales in Chase Point, Bohan. The best cars pay serious money: a clean Super GT or Turismo is worth $36,300 to him, and an Infernus $33,000. Bring them in undamaged, because real damage like broken lights or crumpled panels cuts the price hard. Smashing a window to get in does not count.

The GTA Wiki puts all 30 at $398,970 if every car arrives perfect. After the thirtieth, Stevie keeps buying any car you bring, priced by model and condition, though the price falls if you keep selling him the same model. Every car's exact spot is in our car theft guide.

The big story payouts

  • Three Leaf Clover: Packie's bank job pays $250,000. It is the moment GTA IV money stops being tight.
  • The finale: another $250,000 whichever ending you choose. If the Price is Right pays it on the Deal path, Out of Commission on the Revenge path, so one playthrough gets one of them.

Contracts and side jobs

  • The Fixer's contracts: nine hits from the payphone in Port Tudor after Truck Hustle, $3,000 to $7,500 each and $37,500 in all. Industrial Action carries a $10,000 bonus on top, which the GTA Wiki says is a sports bag on the walkway between the two towers.
  • Exotic Exports: Brucie pays $1,000 a car and $800 a bike in mint condition, $9,400 for all ten. Damage lowers the payout.

Every amount on this page appears in at least two independent sources (the GTA Wiki, Grand Theft Wiki, GTABase and gtaintel.com), except the one total marked as the GTA Wiki's own figure.

FAQ

What is the fastest way to make money in GTA 4?

Push the story to Three Leaf Clover, which pays $250,000, then take every one of Stevie's car thefts. A clean Super GT or Turismo is worth $36,300 to him, and once all 30 are done he buys any car you bring.

Is there a money cheat in GTA 4?

No. None of GTA IV's phone number cheats gives money, on any platform. The cheats cover health, armor, weapons, the wanted level and vehicle spawns.

Does Stevie keep buying cars after all 30?

Yes. Once all thirty are delivered he will buy any vehicle you bring, at a price that depends on the model and its condition, and the price drops if you keep selling him the same model.

How much do the Fixer's contracts pay?

The nine contracts pay between $3,000 and $7,500 each, $37,500 in all. Industrial Action also carries a $10,000 bonus; the GTA Wiki says it is a sports bag on the walkway between the two towers, and that it disappears partway through the fight.
