Deleting your data
ProgressBar keeps as little as it can. This page says exactly what exists, how to remove it yourself, and how to ask us to remove it when you can't. Requests are actioned by a person, usually within a few days, always within 30.
If you have a ProgressBar account
An account exists only if you signed in to sync progress across devices. It stores your sign-in email, your checklist ticks, your playthrough names, and, if you set one up, your public profile. To delete all of it:
In the app, immediately
Open the ProgressBar app, go to the You tab, and choose Delete account. Nothing is queued and nobody reviews it: the account row, every tick and playthrough attached to it, every signed-in device, and the public profile are removed on the spot, and an active Pro subscription is cancelled at the same time. Progress saved on your own device is kept, because it never left it.
Or ask us
No app, or locked out of it? Email hello@progressbar.gg from the address you signed in with, subject "Delete my ProgressBar account". We do it by hand and reply to confirm, usually within a few days and always within 30.
Two things deliberately survive, so this page is not quietly wrong about them. Bug reports and feedback you sent are kept, with your email, account link and network details stripped off, because the report is useful and the identity attached to it is not. And the launch waitlist is separate: deleting an account does not unsubscribe you, since most people on it never had an account. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, covered below.
Progress kept only in your browser (no account) is stored on your device, not with us. Clearing site data for progressbar.gg in your browser removes it.
If you joined the launch waitlist
The waitlist stores your email and the page you signed up from. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address rather than flagging it. Or email us with the subject "Remove me from the waitlist".
If you interacted with our Instagram account
When you comment on a post from @theprogressbargg with a keyword like WALLPAPER, an automation replies and sends you a direct message with a link. For that it receives, through Meta's official API, the id of your comment, its text and your username. It keeps the comment id only, for seven days, so it never replies to the same comment twice; the text and username are not stored anywhere. Nothing from Instagram is linked to a ProgressBar account.
To remove even that: delete your comment on Instagram (the seven day record expires on its own and is never used again), or email us with the subject "Delete my Instagram data" and your Instagram username, and we clear it by hand.
Analytics
Page views are counted with Cloudflare's privacy-first analytics, which has no cookies and no per-person record, and by our own counters that store totals per day, not visitors. There is nothing about you in either to delete.

Only the id of a comment that triggered a reply, kept for seven days so it never replies to the same comment twice. Comment text and usernames are not stored. Delete your comment or email us to remove the record early.
Do I need an account to use the trackers?
No. Without an account, progress is stored in your own browser and never sent to us. Clearing site data for progressbar.gg removes it.
